Julie and Brian's Nuptials!

This weekend Luke and I flew back to Kansas City for Julie and Brian’s wedding. The weekend was crazy busy, but a lot of fun. We flew out Friday morning and arrived in Kansas City around 10:30 a.m. Luke was able to meet one of his good friends Doug for lunch and I was able to meet up with some of my good friends from Cerner (Lesley, Kendra, and Merv). After lunch we stopped by the house to check it out, and realized we had A LOT of work to do. You could no longer see the front window and the bushes were taller than me! We went to Target to buy some clothes (we weren’t planning on landscaping) and to Home Depot for gloves and mulch. We then met up with Cindy and Mindy and saw Eclipse. After the movie, we drove downtown to check into our hotel and met up with Jenny and Shane for dinner at Maker’s Mark. We had a great time and ended up staying out until 3:30 a.m.! We met up with Kendra, and ran into Brian (the groom). All in all it was a great day/night. We woke up early on Saturday knowing we had a full day ahead of us. We landscaped for about 4 hours and were dripping wet. The high was 96 degrees, nothing like laying mulch in the middle of July. Our neighbors were so nice though, we borrowed their wheel barrel, hose, hedge clippers, blower, etc. It was also nice to visit with them for a bit. We finished landscaping and decided we needed some Minsky’s pizza, but we were way too disgusting to go into the restaurant. Luke ordered it for pick-up and we ate it in our rental car in the Minsky’s parking lot.

We ventured back to our hotel to get ready for the wedding. It was so beautiful and so much fun. The reception hall kept it open for an extra long time and afterwards we all went out to Power and Light. It was yet another 3:30 a.m. evening. Luke and I are not built for two nights of going out and dancing. We were both really sore the next day (not sure if it was from the dancing or the mulching or a combination of both!). Regardless, it was a really fun weekend and it was so nice to see all of our Kansas City friends.
