I'm pretty excited about mine as well. You would have never guessed I was turning 27 the way I acted! :)


This has been the summer of seeing Family! Mom, Ann, and Amy came to visit Luke and I in KC the first weekend in June. We had a great time shopping and celebrating the June birthdays. Lily even warmed up to Mom (who walked her EVERY morning - Thanks Mom!)

Wedding!

Luke and I went to Joe and Ardienne's Echols wedding on July 18th. We had a great time and especially loved the candy bar! They had bowls of Skittles (divided by color, which I loved), Reese Pieces, Twizzlers, Hershey chocolates, and orange slices. It was a really good time and we got to spend time visiting with Doug and Angela.

Dad and Ann Visit

Dad and Ann came to visit us in Kansas City the weekend of July 12th - 14th. We had a great time exploring new places in Kansas City, playing a new board game, and eating delicious food. I got my first taste of Oklahoma Joe's (one of KC's best bbq restaurants that is in a gas station). It was awesome. Dad got a rack of ribs and as you can see - they were HUGE!

Charleston, SC 2009

I have been behind in updating our blog. The past few weeks have been really busy. Earlier this month Luke and I went to Charleston, SC to visit family. We had such a great time, it was really hard to leave. Jesse taught us how to surf and seemed impressed we were all able to stand (well kind of). Luke went on a fishing trip with the guys, while the girls relaxed on the beach. We also went to the Boone Plantation where Sara and Jesse are having their wedding reception. It was so pretty and I am glad we were able to view the reception site. Lastly, I ate my first raw oyster in the form of a shot. (It was disgusting, but after being pressured by my loving family -I sucked it down). I haven't loaded my pictures from Charleston yet, I really need to get on that. In the meantime this is one I pulled from Bill's pictures. This was the first night Luke and I were there, and we ate at SeeWee. It was a really good restaurant with some down home Southern cookin'.

Detroit Lakes!

Luke and I ventured to Detroit Lakes, MN for the annual Albertson get together. We took our time getting there and spent a night in Minneapolis with our friends Dan, Pam, and Stephanie. We enjoyed an awesome meal at their house (as always) and went to Ikea for the first time. The next day we finished up the drive to DL. We had a great time visiting with family and relaxing by the lake. Luke's family even bought me birthday cakes complete with candles. Yes, I said "cakes" that is because I had 2. One for the "2" and one for the "7". It was a lot of fun and the cakes were delicious!!!!
